Titans Knock Eagles off Perch.

Titans 2012

Well the 2012 softball season has kicked off already with the Titans putting a few games under their belt already in the Men's Intercity Competition. This years team holds a solid 9 players with new players Josh and Kyle joining the squad.

The Labour weekend tournament saw the Titans join up with the Pirates for 8 games over 3 days. Although there no winning results on the diamond over the weekend, there was some valuable learning done and it also gave the team an opportunity to start to gel together for the season.
The Titans did take out the Team Home Run Derby, scoring a cheque for $250.00 (Kyle and Jeremy).

Looking forward to some good times, a few laughs and some good softball this season boys.

Road Trip to Blenheim

Yesterday saw the Titans travel to Blenheim to play against Wairau White and Black. It was a long trip in the van and seemed to take forever. Thanks to Port Nelson for their continued sponsorship this season with the club and providing the van to travel to away games.
It was not until we got to Havelock that I realised our token German Boy Robert didn't have a clue where we were going. He just thought we were going to play softball. Was proberly wondering what the heck when we headed out of town???
We played two games in the Marlborough heat and Luke kept reminding us..... that it was the hottest place in NZ....
Just a few errors saw us lose to Wairau White and at three we cam back and beat Wairau Black. Dom got three massive home runs, Adrian two and Ben and.......Dan the Man got one as well. A great batting also from Stevie too. A great road trip boys. Next weekend we play the Saints in Nelson.

New Cap Robert from Germany

Robert has joined the team this season from Germany and is learning very quickly that baseball and softball although very similar are also very different!
Less time to think and shorter distance to throw to.
Ka pai Robert!

Titans Represent at the 3 Ring Tournament

Quick Rap

Just a quick rap on the weekends game it was a good win for the titans over the pirates with a game against them again this coming weekend so im expecting a repeat.

It was a good way to get the season under way with a win and it was good to see what we could do as a team so with that said im looking forward to the whole season.

There are a few new caps to the team this season with players like Daniel and steping up to play for the titans full time this season and his brother James leaving his role as umpire to return to playing. Also players such as Steven and Arthur have made a step up to play for the titans. Others inluded Clinton, Jacob, Dan.C and aslo a player new to the country all the way from Germany Robert.

For those titans reading remember trainings on Mondays at 5.30pm at Saxtons field
and he gafme this week against the pirates at 1pm be there at 12.15 ready to warm up and play
